Evictions for nonpayment of rent, and charges/fees for nonpayment of rent, have been temporarily suspended. This applies to all HUD-assisted participants from March 27, 2020 to July 24, 2020.
The Housing Authority of Racine County's number one priority is the safety and well being of our staff, clients, families, and the community in which we live and work. We are assessing the COVID-19 situation daily, and have determined at this time that the best course of action is to close our offices to the public. The Housing Authority of Racine County is required by the Department of Housing and Urban Development to share this information with all adult members of Section 8 Program households. This notice is being mailed to Housing Choice Voucher Program participants, both tenant and project based, and public housing tenants. This material includes information regarding victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and/or stalking and the law protecting them through the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA).
